Being a full-time mummy, worker and wife, and not having family to help us, leaves us little time for anything else…

Yesterday one of my good friends ask my yummy mummy group “do any of you sometimes have days when no matter what you do; you simple cannot catch your breath?” Half of the group replied YES.

The truth is that with leaving expenses going up and with people having the opportunity to settle in various parts of the world, more and more mummies find themselves with a full plate.

Weekends don’t feel like Weekends any more. We still have to wake up at 6.30 am, at the latest, still have to come up with a day full of activities to keep our daughter occupied, have to do food shopping, house shores, take the dog for proper long runs/walks, do washing and more…

At the end of most weekends I am left feeling more exhausted than I did at the end of a working week, and feeling like I suck as a mother and worker. Do you relate with this article? If so here are four point which help me. Hopefully they’ll help you too:

1) cook big batches of food one night, so you don’t have to cook at the weekend (spaghetti bolognaise, lasagna, chile con carne, chicken or fish pie are all a hit with kids and are simple to cook)

2) invest in a slow cooker. These are brilliant, just throw everything in the morning and it’ll be ready for you in the evening.

3) Get a cleaner to help you at home. If you don’t have much money get her once every 2 weeks. Honestly it is worth it.

4) let things go. Accepting that your house will always look like a toy bomb just went off, will save you so many headaches.
